Quick Claims TestUlster Bank PPI Claims

Ulster bank are currently being investigated by the Central Bank for mis-selling Payment Protection Insurance to their customers in Ireland. PPI was sold by lenders such as Ulster bank alongside forms of credit such as Loans, Credit Cards and Mortgages. PPI is designed to protect consumers should they become unable to meet repayment terms due to accident, sickness or redundancy. The problem with PPI however is that Ulster Bank and other lenders sold this costly insurance to consumers who did not need, want or would benefit from it. PPI has multiple exclusions and therefore should go through a vigorous selling process to ensure that the client is suitable and will be covered by the policy. Lenders such as Ulster Bank were rewarded with massive commissions from the insurance providers for selling ppi and therefore they often sold PPI with profit in mind instead of a clients eligibility. If you are paying ppi you may be paying for a policy that will never cover you!

The Ulster Bank are part of the RBS Banking Group which in the UK has already refunded hundreds of millions of pounds in PPI Compensation to their customers. The banking group is arguably the largest in the UK and they were found guilty of mis-selling payment protection insurance in 2008 by the FSA. As a result of this they were fined and have had to refund millions in mis sold premiums to their customers. Ulster Bank selling practises in Ireland did not differ much from the UK and thousands of customers have been mis-sold ppi as a result of this. It is expected that Ulster bank will also have to refund millions of Euros in mis-sold insurance premiums to their clients in Ireland over the coming years.
